Transport Management System TMS

Transport Management System TMS

The Transport Management System was jointly developed with Karl Schmidt Spedition freight forwarders. It offers a solution that spans the complete spectrum of freight forwarding and transport activities for your customers and subcontractors; from master file data administration and offer creation to order management and planning right up to billing. The Schmidt Group currently manages more than 800 silo vehicles and 4000 containers. 180 users in 28 locations in 9 countries are on board and use the main server in Neckarsulm.

What is in the package:

  • Offer Management
After entering a small order in the fast-entry mode or a large order with hundreds of positions, automatic fax transmissions can be initiated as well as automatic generation of conditions.
  • Order Receipt
From highly automated manual acquisition right up to electronic order receipt using the EDIFACT/XML interface, the orders are readily available. The conditions for transfer orders are assigned directly after acquisition using individual tariffs.
  • Scheduling
Pre-scheduling is set up based on strategic or geographic considerations for each order. A simple visual display allows you to quickly overview the planned transports and vehicles available. The final scheduling is accomplished in a further step. If desired, automated status reports can be generated for the initiator.
  • Freight and Performance Invoicing
Customer invoicing, using individual or collective invoices, can be done using paper or electronically. External data, like repair services or fuelling, can be taken into account and communicated to the carrier in the credit note using an interface.
  • Fully-Integrated Satellite Communications System
In addition to geo-positioning and status reports as locators, order details for scheduling, billing and evaluation can be exchanged.
  • Interface to your Bookkeeping Department
Transfer of billing data to financial accounting systems including automatic account location.
  • Interface to the Document Management System DMS
